After the power battery electric vehicle, technology has become another attractive and promising alternative. The fuel cell vehicle has the same endurance mileage and fuel replenishment time as the gasoline vehicle, and can fully realize zero emission and fulfill the mission of urban green travel. For this reason, Faurecia decided to invest about 15 million euros in the research and development of fuel cell technology every year, in order to fully stimulate the potential of the technology in the automotive industry. Faurecia - advanced fuel cell system Faurecia's advanced fuel cell system has two major features: high range (over 500 km) and short hydrogenation time (3-5 minutes). In the past few years, Faurecia has cooperated with R & D and technical experts to create high-performance solutions for the two key components with the highest overall value of the fuel cell system: to build high-pressure hydrogen storage tank in cooperation with stelia aerospace composite company, and to develop fuel power reactor in cooperation with the French Commission for alternative energy and atomic energy (CEA). Recently, Faurecia signed a memorandum of understanding with Michelin group, a global leader in tire technology and sustainable travel. The two sides will establish a new joint venture to integrate all fuel cell related businesses of Michelin (including its subsidiary, Symbio) and Faurecia's fuel cell business. Faurecia and Michelin are committed to establishing a leading global battery joint venture. Through the integration of existing partner resources and asset complementarity, the joint venture will be able to provide a series of hydrogen fuel cell products for all use cases (light vehicles, multi-purpose vehicles, trucks, etc.) in the short term. With the maturity of fuel cell technology and the gradual development of infrastructure such as hydrogenation station, Faurecia's overall goal is to reduce the cost of fuel cell unit by half, so that fuel cell becomes a more attractive option for vehicle manufacturers. At present, Faurecia has been in the stage of product test and verification of core components of fuel cell. The first standard fuel cell stack and hydrogen storage tank are expected to formally pass the product verification in Europe in the first quarter of 2020.
