According to foreign media reports, positioning platform companies TomTom (tom2), Bosch and Daimler announced that they have jointly developed an advanced driving assistance system (ADAS) or intelligent endurance control system - Daimler predictive powertrain control (PPC) system for commercial vehicles. The truck adopts TomTom's high-precision ADAS map and Bosch's integrated road information system electronic horizon (electronic horizon) to realize the automatic driving function on the expressway and the road between European cities. The system reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 5% per vehicle. The new generation of Mercedes Actros is equipped with the latest PPC technology. Thanks to TomTom's ADAS map, the system is familiar with terrain, curvature, speed limits (including truck specific speed limits) and traffic signs, which means it can respond in the right way to achieve the most fuel-efficient performance. Bosch's integrated road information system electronic horizon is used to integrate the information of the road ahead into the driving strategy of the new Benz Actros model, and provide the map data required by each ADAS protocol in an innovative way, so as to realize easy, safe and efficient driving. Antoine Saucier, general manager of TomTom's automobile department, said: "the new PPC technology is using TomTom's ADAS map to provide support for driving functions on the roads between cities, which can not only achieve a safer and more comfortable driving experience, but also save a lot of fuel and reduce carbon dioxide emissions."
