In other words, power battery technology is not a new topic, although it still seems to belong to the "future". However, since this year, from the actions of vehicle manufacturers, the strategic layout of various suppliers, as well as the inclination of many local governments on hydrogen energy policies, it is felt that this technology is getting closer to us. Especially after we feel the clarity full cell (hereinafter referred to as the clarity car) in close distance again at this fair, this feeling becomes more and more intense. Cheyun mushroom can't help but "talk about hydrogen power again" - what is the logic behind its coming, and what will be the pattern between it and this new energy technology in full swing? The basic principle of fuel cell technology, car cloud bacteria here do not want to "turn over the book", interested can search our past articles. There are many mature answers from Du Niang. What cheyun wants to express here is the essence of fuel cell. In fact, it is very similar to the pure electricity we are now familiar with. The driving mode of fuel cell technology is exactly the same as that of pure electricity, that is, motor driving is adopted. Therefore, all the advantages of pure electric, fuel cell models almost all have. For example, the quietness of driving is far superior to the fuel vehicle, and the acceleration linearity is excellent, and the acceleration of medium and low speed is far from comparable to the fuel vehicle. The essential difference between fuel cell and pure electric power lies in the difference of energy storage. Pure electric energy is stored as a power battery - through charging and discharging, energy is stored and released on the vehicle. The pain points of this model are now as numerous as you can imagine. A lot of people may think of endurance, but it's not the core. Charging time is the point. In fact, a fuel car with a range of 400 kilometers, everyone will not have mileage anxiety, why? Because as long as we get to the gas station, we can revive in a few minutes. In addition, such as attenuation, winter electricity discount and so on, are also difficult to solve problems of power battery in a short time. Fuel cells turn energy storage from power cells into hydrogen. In other words, hydrogen reacts in the fuel cell stack to generate electric energy to drive the vehicle. Although the driving force still comes from electricity, its usage habits are close to that of fuel vehicles. Take Honda's clarity fuel cell car as an example. Its hydrogenation time is only 3 minutes, which can't be achieved with any "super" pure electric vehicle. In terms of emissions, there is also a slight difference between the two. It's true that both pure electricity and hydrogen fuel cells have zero emissions during driving - pure electricity has no emissions, while hydrogen fuel cells only discharge water. But there is a difference in the source of energy. The energy source of pure electricity is electricity, but we know that electricity itself is not really zero emission. Especially in the area where thermal power accounts for a relatively high proportion. The energy source of hydrogen fuel cell is hydrogen. As long as the problem of zero or low emission of hydrogen production is solved, the overall emission level of this technology is actually lower than that of pure electricity. It is precisely because of this that new energy R & D in the industry has formed two branches. In fact, the research and development of fuel cells and pure electric vehicles were almost "parallel" before. But with it, it changed the whole pattern of new energy technology development - let pure electricity take the lead. However, this does not mean that the fuel cell has disappeared. On the contrary, with the development of technology, it is also unknown that it will "attack people later". If we talk about the emergence of technical principles, fuel cells and pure electric, as early as a hundred years ago - they have no shorter history in the laboratory than fuel vehicles. In fact, as early as the middle of the last century, NASA has used fuel cell technology on spacecraft and participated in the Apollo moon landing program. So why, until now, fuel cell models are still not popular, even let pure electric take the lead? The reason is that fuel cell technology in mass production, there are still many pain points. Just as the energy density of power cell affects the development of pure electric power, the energy and volume density of fuel cell technology reactor is the key to its development. In the past, fuel cell vehicles needed a lot of batteries to generate more than 10 kilowatts of power. Not only occupy a large amount of interior space, but also the performance is weak, which is difficult to meet the demand of mass production vehicles. Not only that, in the past, the cost of fuel cells was extremely high. If mass production, the price of a fuel cell vehicle similar to clarity may cost millions of yuan to maintain its capital. Obviously, such products can not be competitive. In addition, the production, transportation and storage of hydrogen, as an energy storage medium, are also the difficulties that need technical breakthroughs for many years. So in recent years, the manufacturers represented by Honda, etc. are committed to the research and development of fuel cell technology, which is to solve these pain points, so that it can meet the needs of mass production vehicles. These historical chariots don't have much experience, so the above knowledge, like everyone else, comes from "reading". However, the current level of hydrogen fuel cell technology development, car cloud bacteria has a perceptual cognition. This is also the main reason why we feel that this technology is not far away from us. All of the above are general concepts without much data support. So next, take the clarity fuel cell vehicle brought by Honda at this fair as an example to see what level of fuel cell mass production vehicle technology has reached. Clarity is actually a series of Honda new energy vehicles, not limited to the fuel cell version. So this car looks like it has a sense of future, but it's also very grounded. It's the same size, but it also has a sliding back shape, and the ultimate pursuit of aerodynamic design (the most typical design is the rear fender, which is very rare on fuel vehicles). The first thing that impresses me is space: basically, it's not much different from other mass production models of the same size. Of course, there is the contribution of Honda mm concept, but it is also inseparable from the development of fuel cell technology. The battery stack volume of clarity fuel cell vehicle is 33% smaller than that of the previous generation, and the fuel cell unit is 20% thinner than before. If we use the data of energy density to measure, the corresponding data reaches 3.1kw/l. This makes the clarity fuel cell vehicle realize the first time in the world that the overall power assembly can be stored in the cabin, without affecting the passenger compartment space of 5 seats. The second is hydrogenation time and endurance - only 3 minutes of hydrogenation, with a maximum endurance of 750 km (jc08 mode method in Japan), even exceeding the endurance of current mass-produced electric vehicles, which is basically the same as that of fuel vehicles. The reason why this can be achieved is related to the technology and layout of hydrogen storage tank - two 70MPa hydrogen storage tanks, one large and one small, are used. The small hydrogen storage tank makes full use of the space under the rear seat, and the large one is arranged behind the rear seat - although it will occupy the volume of some trunk, it can ensure that the passenger compartment space is not affected. Similar to plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, hydrogen fuel electric vehicles also need to be equipped with a small capacity power battery pack. The clarity fuel cell vehicle will be arranged under the front seats, which will also have no impact on the interior space. Finally, performance. The motor power and torque of clarity fuel cell vehicle are 130kW and 300N ยท m respectively. Of course, this performance is not comparable with Tesla, but it is still "just" compared with ordinary fuel vehicles. It can be said that the clarity fuel cell vehicle is an important representative of a few mature fuel cell mass production vehicles at present. Including the Toyota Mirai and so on, they all have similar characteristics. But from the product point of view, they actually have the ability to participate in the market competition and compete with pure electric. So why haven't you come yet? What time do you come? The technology has been mature, and the competitiveness of the product itself has been possessed. The last key lies in "ecology". To be more straightforward, in addition, the construction of hydrogenation stations and the price of hydrogen will become the key factors for the popularization of fuel cell vehicles. Although there is a lot of news in this regard since this year, such as the construction of various hydrogenation stations, and there will be 20000 hydrogenation stations in China by 2030, it has not come true after all. However, I feel that everyone's enthusiasm for this aspect is higher than in the past. In this regard, Che cannot help but recall a "beautiful blueprint" once depicted at the second hydrogen energy committee in 2017. By 2050, there will be 400 million hydrogen fuel cell household cars in the world, accounting for more than 20% of all household cars. Is it possible? Impossible? No one can be sure or deny it. But one thing is certain. According to the information obtained in the fair, Honda is actively discussing fuel cell technology in China at present. It has the advantages of relevant policies and the support of vehicle enterprise technology. I believe that it is not far from us for fuel cell vehicles to enter the family. Not at this time, I don't know when, I think the big date is Winter?
