At the 11th general police equipment exhibition (GPEC) in 2020, Mercedes showed its position as a full line supplier of police vehicles. The Mercedes Benz stand includes five vehicles with electric, hydrogen driven and state-of-the-art diesel technology, which shows that Mercedes Benz has put forward the best equipment to meet the challenges facing the police in the future. Mercedes Benz has shown its new electric EQC as a police car for the first time. The first Mercedes Benz model of EQ, a new product and technology brand, combines the iconic brand features of quality, safety and comfort. In addition to groundbreaking design details and excellent range, EQC also features the brand's world-renowned highest level of safety. For example, the vehicle is equipped with the latest generation of Mercedes Benz auxiliary driving system. These features include new features such as desired speed adjustments. EQC also meets the most critical requirements in terms of passive safety: in addition to the usual, extensive crash test procedures, Mercedes Benz also applies particularly stringent safety standards to all components with current. These standards exceed the legal requirements. The local emission free GLC F-CELL displayed on the exhibition stand also represents a new era of sustainable transportation for Mercedes Benz. This is the first Mercedes Benz patrol car with battery driven function, which has been used by Hamburg police since 2019. This special car combines innovative fuel cell and battery technology, and in addition to electricity, it runs on pure hydrogen. The intelligent interaction between battery and fuel cell, long-distance and short refueling time make GLC F-CELL a highly practical, suitable for short-distance and long-distance driving. Another highlight is e 300 de estate, which is the benchmark of efficiency and low emission value. The plug-in hybrid is equipped with the latest Mercedes Benz diesel engine, which has the best of both worlds. In cities and towns, it operates in a fully electric mode, while on long journeys, it benefits from the power of an internal combustion engine. The route based intelligent operation strategy will activate the most suitable electric driving mode for the route. For example, it considers navigation data, terrain, speed limits, and traffic conditions for the entire planned route. The eco assistant guides the driver and helps save fuel.
