In some cases, drivers looking for parking spaces account for a third of all urban traffic. Although the nearest vacant parking space may be on a corner or parallel street, there is a lack of smart city technology to find such parking space. Because it takes a long time to find parking space, and the parking fee is also very expensive, a group of optoelectronic engineers who left the Israel Defense Department decided to apply their special knowledge in the military field to the civil sector to solve such parking problems. The company's goal is to make parking more orderly and create a future city without parking tickets. Wisesight's parking solution requires a simple camera to be installed on the street light pole to identify the idle parking space nearby and the identity of parked vehicles. The solution can connect to a smartphone parking app widely used by Israeli drivers to identify whether drivers pay for parking and send text messages to remind if necessary. After three years of operation, the company has cooperated with large towns such as kafasaba and Ashdod, and has begun to deploy its technology in Jerusalem, Haifa, ramatgan and several cities in the United States. In addition, the company works with Park apps Pango and cellopark to automatically and easily pay for parking. Considering the high turnover of vehicles in each parking space and the limited number of parking inspectors, only one out of every 20 illegal parking incidents will be found by the municipal authorities. Big data analysis shows that the smart parking solution can significantly increase the driver's income, far more than the city authorities' income through fines. The research and development of parking related technologies are mainly focused on the ability to identify idle parking spaces, pay parking fees and manage large parking lots, and the solution of vision is aimed at these three aspects. As wisesight's solutions become more popular, the company is growing and has tripled in size every year since its inception. Today, the company has 15 employees in Israel, six in the Philippines and representatives in the United States and Europe. As cars become more and more common on the road, smart city development changes the city, and this technology will continue to play a role. Self driving cars also need to be stopped somewhere.
