(source: greenarcongress) according to foreign media reports, electric bus manufacturer protera has launched a multi distributor charging solution. In the protera charging system, a number of short pile charging distributors are set up to match with the power control system. Through the multi distributor charging solution, multiple vehicles can be charged automatically continuously to reach the full power level. Each PCs control system can access up to four distributors. This solution requires less hardware and installation equipment, which can reduce the cost of infrastructure for customers. At the same time, reduce the space occupied by the charging system, which is very suitable for small warehouses and parking lots. In its 60 kW and 125 kW systems, protera enables multi distributor charging to power the protera catalyst transport vehicles and the saf-t-liner C2 jouley electric school bus using protera technology. For customers who already have a protera charger, a multi distributor solution can be retrofitted to an existing PCs unit. The protera charging system adopts standard j1772-ccs plug-in and SAE j3105 overhead pantograph technology. As a result, fleet operators can use the same charger to charge a variety of heavy and light electric vehicles. The protera charger also has vehicle to grid (V2G) capability and supports smart grid. Not only can one PCS system connect multiple distributors, but they can also be installed up to 500 feet away from PCs, which helps to further optimize the space. In order to support the customer's transition to an all electric fleet, protera offers a range of service options through protera energy Gamma Fleet solutions to provide a complete energy ecosystem for heavy-duty electric fleet, covering design, construction, financing, operation, maintenance and energy optimization. Protera's in-house team of experts is dedicated to designing and installing the best charging infrastructure solutions to meet the unique needs of transport companies and other heavy EV fleet operators.
