According to foreign media reports, SBG systems will launch the quanta series of inertial navigation systems (INS) at the international exhibition in Stuttgart, Germany for the first time. The system can be designed for air and land mobile map integrators. (picture source: SBG systems) because SBG systems wants to let surveyors gain more autonomy on the extra measuring lines, a small, lightweight, low-power inertial navigation system is designed to provide two levels of accuracy. Quanta and Quanta extra are developed for compact lidar or camera based mobile map solutions. Quanta is designed to provide real-time processed precise positioning and centimeter level position data. If the direct geolocation solution is embedded in the UAV, it can reduce the demand for ground control points and the demand for overlapping control points. If it is embedded in the car, even in the harsh urban conditions, with the help of advanced car configuration and odometer, it can ensure strong control of vehicle track tracking. Qinertia, the post-processing software of SBG, provides support for quanta, and can also access the offline RTK (real-time dynamic measurement) correction function of more than 700 base stations in 164 countries. The company said it has greatly improved vehicle tracking and positioning by processing inertial data and observable data in the front and rear directions of the original GNSS. In addition, the advanced software can also calculate the location of the base station, so as to quickly make the project reach centimeter level accuracy. Quanta is based on SBG's experience in UAV navigation and mobile map high-end sensors. As a geolocation solution, Quanta can be integrated into UAVs or ground vehicles. The solution also integrates the independently developed IMU, advanced calibration technology and algorithm to ensure consistent performance and powerful positioning function in all weather conditions, even if the mobile map system is close to buildings, wires or trees. In addition, Quanta also embeds a web page to try to make a simple configuration with a 3D display of all parameters. The calibration tool also automatically calibrates the lever arm between the two antennas and the sensor and re estimates as it moves to ensure greater accuracy.
