The supply of renewable energy fluctuates greatly. New energy carriers and energy storage technologies are needed to solve this problem, which makes the importance of hydrogen and other alternative energy sources increasing day by day. On earth, hydrogen is almost an inexhaustible energy source. Hydrogen, as the carrier of energy in the future, has great development potential. In this field, Schaeffler makes full use of the company's traditional core technology in material technology, molding technology and surface treatment to develop a key component - metal bipolar plate. In addition, Schaeffler also gives full play to its advantages in the industry and automobile industry, from energy production to energy application in vehicles, and actively participates in all aspects of the energy chain. "We want to create a zero emission, sustainable and personalized way of transportation from the perspective of the whole energy chain," said UWE, chief technology officer of Schaeffler Group Wagner) said, "in terms of solving the global carbon emission problem, it's not enough to rely on battery driven vehicles. We need new energy storage systems. The combination of hydrogen and fuel cell can play a key role in the field of heavy trucks; for passenger cars, the hybrid energy storage system of hydrogen and battery is also an attractive solution, which can help to extend the driving mileage of vehicles. " Schaeffler makes full use of the traditional core technology to continuously improve the value chain of key components of fuel cell. Bipolar plate is the core component of fuel cell. It is formed by precise forming and coating of thin metal plate, and then stacked to form the core stack of fuel cell system. Fuel cell is a kind of energy conversion device, which makes hydrogen react with oxygen to generate water. The electric energy generated by releasing electrons can be used to drive the motor of vehicle. In order to optimize the fuel cell system, Schaeffler continues to expand the product range by entering new professional fields, such as electronic control system, special film bearing, intelligent thermal management module and passive hydrogen recycling module. Schaeffler will take part in the 46th Tokyo International Auto Show on the theme of "committed to sustainable and automated transport development" to demonstrate innovative technologies for the future sustainable energy chain and zero emission transport solutions, including fuel cell technology. Schaeffler will also show the latest motor products, including different power levels. At present, these motors are about to be put into mass production. In addition, the company will also show intelligent rear wheel steering system, 90 degree Steering Intelligent steering drive module, wire control technology for automatic driving and Schaeffler mover, a city traffic vehicle.
